Annual Mountain Bike Ride

Benefiting the Challenged Athletes Foundation

Thank you to everyone that participated in the event and for your support of the
 Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF)

The event, held on June 1, 2013 was a huge success!
We look forward to your continued support and hope to see you at next year's event!

Funds raised at this event will allow CAF to provide empowering adaptive equipment, encouragement from a fellow athlete or the funds to make training and competition travel possible, so a challenged athlete can participate in life-affirming sports. A letter from one of the 2013 participants:

Good Morning Steve and GiGi,

I wanted to take a few minutes this morning to tell you how much our group enjoyed the bike ride on Saturday. You and your team did a wonderful job from marking the course to making sure everyone had plenty of water and snacks to the entertainment and food after the ride. We enjoyed the vendors especially Trek. Two of our guy’s road the Trek bikes with the big wheels. When we got to the Del Dios Store they lowered the seats and Carla and I got to try them out. OH MY HECK, they are awesome bikes. It is nice that Trek allowed riders to try them out. We are all going to get second jobs so we can buy one. LOL (jk)

We all look forward to riding again next year. We will have a few more people. we had one that was out of town for a graduation and another rider who broke his thumb on a previous ride so he and his family did not ride this year but will be there next year for sure.

The only thing I would have voted for was cooler weather but then that is just me, I ride best when it is 60 degrees but you can never predict what the weather is going to be like when you set a date for an event so people like me just have to suck it up. LOL

I understand that there were fewer riders this year than last year; please do not be discouraged because there were a couple of other events going on this weekend that probably contributed to fewer riders. I think there was something going on Saturday and the Rock and Roll Marathon was Sunday. What you are doing is for such a good cause and having an off-road ride in our own back yard is awesome; I think this event will get bigger and bigger as more people know about it. When you set the date for next year let me know so I can start passing the work and mark my calendar so I am not out of town.

Thanks again for a GREAT day.

B.T.W. Myself and four of my riders were on KUSI news.
